| Action: Transnational Workshop Where: Lousada, Portugal When: 1st-3rd of October 2024 (travel days: 30th of September and 4th of October 2024) Topic: EUrban DECO carries out a joint transnational investigation to show how the colonial ideology is still influential in today’s urban environment. APPROACH / METHODOLOGY: Non-formal education. Who can apply: We are looking for 2 people – all are welcome, women and non-binary participants highly appreciated. What will be done: Hosted by the Lousada Municipality, this event focuses on raising awareness in the colonial context of Portugal in the 20th century, more specifically: 1) the recruitment of colonists to work in so-called overseas territories in Africa, 2) the Colonial War (1961-1974), and 3) the decolonization and repatriation of hundreds of thousands of Portuguese from the colonies.
