Rural on the Go

NEST Berlin carried out a Erasmus Plus Multi-Activity called “Rural on the Go”, involving 28 youth workers and leaders in two related events ( TCs ) in order to boost the development of soft skills, green skills, entrepreneurial attitudes and competences in agriculture, basic knowledge of ICT with the aim to garner the basics of a new form of employability for youngsters in rural areas.

Project TOPICs:

As farming is the main economic activity in most rural areas of Europe, farmers play a key role in Europe which cannot be understated. Even though their value is clear, many young people no longer see farming as a viable prospect for their future.

Some of the objectives of the project were:
– To develop new NFE tools for youth workers/leaders to spread awareness about agricultural entrepreneurship;
– To combat youth unemployment of rural areas;
– To promote environmental awareness among young people;

Project ACTIVITIES

The two related and interconnected activities of the project were organised in Berlin:

A1 TC “My Green Future”:Administering to participants new knowledge skills and attitudes in regards to the agro-business and sustainability.

A2 TC “Green Way”:Allocating knowledge and results which were achieved in the local activities’ phase by partner organizations and participants.
